Verification Report on the Implementation of the HCFC Phase-out Management Plan in Mongolia” was successfully completed with the participation Mr. Ambia Ashraful, an independent consultant from UNEP, and identified that Mongolia is compliance with the obligation of the Montreal Protocol.

Within the implemtation of HCFC phase out Management Plan for Mongolia, the proposed HCFCs included in the amendment of the Government Resolution # 95, 2007: “List of the toxic and hazardous chemicals restricted and banned for using in Mongolia” and was approved by the government resoultion # 145, dated on 01 December 2012.
Within the implemtation of HCFC phase out Management Plan for Mongolia, NOA received three sets of servicing tools including a vacuum pump and 14 refrigerant cylinders from UNEP for training purpose and handed over to the “Master skills” training center in March.
Within the implemtation of HCFC phase out Management Plan for Mongolia, technology conversion of two extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam board manufacturing factories has been conducted and two factories completely stopped using HCFCs for production by 01 June.

Ms.Enkhtuya S., customs officer and trainer, was awarded the Asia Enviromental Enforcement Award – 2017.
Within the implemtation of HCFC phase out Management Plan for Mongolia, conducted a study tour to Japan to learn from Japanse experiences on alternative technologies to HCFCs in RAC sector. Total of 5 personnel, 1 from CGA, 1 from NOA and 3 from MRA, participated in the tour and studied about Japanese RAC technology trend and the county’s legal framework related to ODSs and ODS alternatives.
The Multilaretial Fund and UNEP presented a Certificate of Recognition to MONGOLIA on the Occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the Montreal protocol Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer during the South Asia National Ozone Officers Network meeting-2017.
UNEP, Ozone Secretariat awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to MONGOLIA for its Commitment and contribution to the achievements of the Montreal protocol Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer at the occasion of 30 th Anniversary of the Montreal protocol.
Three Trainers from MRA participated in the capacity building “Train the training workshop on servicing of R-290 based Air-Conditioners” in China.
Within the implemtation of HCFC phase out Management Plan for Mongolia, organized a “Train-the trainer workshop on good practices in handling of R-32 and R-290 based split air conditioners and heat pumps” with collaboration of UNEP and Japan. Mr.Manuel Azucena, trainer of UNEP and head of Department at Shinas Vocational Training Center in the Philipphines, was the trainer of the workshop. Total of 25 technicians were participated in the training workshop and received a certificate of participation.
Within the implemtation of HCFC phase out Management Plan for Mongolia, the Government Resolution No.277 of 2018, the “Regulation to issue license for import, sale and use of Ozone depleting substances and its alternative substances, and equipment containing them” was approved by government resolution #277. This new regulation is updated from the government resolution No.104 of 1999.
The working group to implement the prepaerational works of thematic workshop for National Ozone Officers of South Asia Network “Enabling HFC Phase-down while Phasing-out HCFCs” in Ulaanbaatar was established and HE. Mr.Batbayar Ts., Vice Minister of Environment and Tourism, was appointed as a working group leader. Total of 34 representatives from 11 regional countries participated in the workshop.
The “Ozone to Climate technology roadshow” exhibitionwas organized, the first in Mongolia, on the margins of the thematic workshop for National Ozone Officers of South Asia Network “Enabling HFC Phase-down while Phasing-out HCFCs” under the implemtation of HCFC phase out Management Plan for Mongolia. The exhibition was dedicated to the 20thannivarsery of Mongolian National Ozone Authority of MET.
